Anti-Bullying Week, which is coordinated by the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum, takes place on the week beginning 12 November 2018. The focus of Anti-Bullying Week 2018 is on the theme of RESPECT.
Under this theme we are encouraging children and young people to think about what the respect means to them, what it feels like to be respected and how they show respect to others. Overall, we are exploring how respect for others can build an anti-bullying culture in our schools, youth groups and communities.
NIABF has produced a range of materials, including workshop plans, presentations and posters, to support schools and organisations communicate key anti-bullying messages on the theme of RESPECT to the children and young people they work with. All schools and organisations that registered before the cut-off date (10 October) have now received their packs.
If you haven’t registered, click here to complete the short sign-up form. We will get your resources out to you as soon as possible, however we cannot guarantee delivery until after ABW18.
If you have registered but have not received an email, please contact us on 028 9087 5006.
Printed copies of the posters have been sent to all registered schools and organisations.
Follow the links below to download the posters, which you can print or display on digital screens. Both English and Irish language versions are available, and posters can be downloaded in PDF and JPEG formats.
You can download the full set of posters here – ABW18 Posters
Wear Yellow 4 Respect
Throughout ABW18, we are calling on everyone to ‘Wear Yellow 4 Respect’. It could be a yellow hat, yellow socks or a yellow tie. Perhaps a pair of yellow trousers, a yellow jumper or yellow shoes. From some yellow shoe laces to a completely yellow outfit, everything counts!
Once you have dressed yellow, we’re asking you to take a photo of yourself, holding up an ABW18 ‘RESPECT Board, which can be downloaded here: ABW18 RESPECT Board.
Then, please share your photo on social media, using the #WearYellow4RESPECT and #ABW18. If you are sharing on Twitter you can tag us @niabf, however we are not currently active on other social media platforms. Also, you can send your photographs to us to put on our website. Just email to us as firstname.lastname@example.org.
ABW Creative Competition
NIABF received hundreds of entries to our ABW18 competition, in both the Art and Movie/Performance categories. Winners will be announced at a special ceremony to mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week. A second competition has already been opened to registered schools and groups. Information on this will be shared more widely during ABW18.
Please note, due to the volume of entries NIABF cannot return any of the artwork submitted.
